The Dragon's ToothEdit
In the first book the Archer Motel is described as a sagging. It had walkways powdered orange with rust. The courtyard was full of cracks which were thick with thistles. The chain-link fence was battered and split. The pool, which is behind the hotel, could not hold water because it was so cracked. The archer herself is a tall lady, a statue standing outside the motel and its namesake. Though she used to be lit up at night, she is now pale.
